IT'S LIFE LATELY, BABY

I considered making this a simple Real Life Wednesday post--a seemingly feasible ambition, right? Right. The unfortunate reality is that eventually it dawned on me that the day was not Wednesday, but Friday. If somebody happens to know where the past couple days ran off too just let me know. Pretty sure they were real doozies.

Moving on...

L I F E       L A T E L Y

I've spent the last 7-ish years of my life thinking no movie could possibly surpass the greatness of Napoleon Dynamite, but I've been proven wrong. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is the.bomb. Believe it or not, Iceland really does look just like the scenes in that movie. While I didn't longboard through the mountainous terrain I did take a bus at one point...which is equally exciting but in a much less deadly way.  I don't trust myself on skate-board-like-things anymore. Anyway, the TSLOWM (lol) soundtrack has been on non-stop repeat. So much love.

I'm home again. A glorious thing, really, though being abroad was such a wonderful experience. I learned so much. And got side-cheek-kissed once by a waiter.  Yes, you read that right. I'm no longer a Cheeky-Virgin. So that's weird.Someday when my head isn't swimming with million things I'll  get all those crazy life experiences and lessons and reflections down on paper. Maybe I will even manage to go through the photographs I took. And...maybe even post them. I know, I know. Inconceivable!

A week after returning home my family left on a trip to the Indiana area for 6 days. That wasn't the least bit overwhelming, I swear. ;) In actuality, the trip was quite pleasant. Living 600 miles from my grandparents, uncles + aunts and MY BROTHER WHO HAS A GIRLFRIEND is a real joy crusher. Speaking of said girlfriend,Heather, we all love her dearly--despite her hatred of guacamole. If you would keep her in your prayers that would be lovely--she's been attending RCIA for some time now and intends on joining the Church on Easter Vigil!!! Coming from a family with 8 generations of Baptist Pastors, this isn't the most wildly...encouraged....conversion. It's going to be tough.

Home-life has otherwise been overrun by copious work hours. This month, I will have had only 17 days that I was actually home...and somehow in those few days I'll have logged in 100 hours. Yay bank account. No yay for being at the grocery store that much.

In addition to working, I've been plugging through SAT preps and college research. YES ME GOING TO COLLEGE. I KNOW WHAT IS THIS MADNESS. THAT WAS NEVER THE PLAN, STAN.  Long story short, despite having never been my "plan", God seems to be pushing me in that direction. I'm trying to go with His flow and to accept His Will with courage instead of fear...but it's hard for me when everything seems so new and unknown. Saint Therese has been a hugeee intercessor for me these days. She's famous for her 'little way'  and that reminds me that it is very good to take small, baby steps and focusing oneself on God and His presence in whatever place you are currently in. If that even makes any sense. I don't know. In any case, St. Therese is my homie and college apps aren't that much fun.

As always, there is still so much more to tell. It is my hope to write more frequently in the future, but we shall see. In the mean time, here are a few instagram shots of my life lately. Depite all the stress and crazies, beautiful moments reign supreme. God's goodness is infinite.

Feel free to check out the rest of my instagramsssssssssssssss here!! I'm addicted. ;)

  5. Oh gracious, yes. I was obstinate in NEVER GOING TO GO TO COLLEGE - until my junior year of high school... and then God was like, "Hey, you know you love this college." So now I'm insanely happy because God's will is so good. <3
